“Sense”-sational Science!
Class Schedule: 45 minutes; 8 week sessions (not offered Spring session)
Ages: 3-5
Curriculum and Objectives:
Classes are designed to generate kids’ interest in science and encourage them to develop questions about our natural world. Our hands-on approach allows kids to observe and make predictions about the experiments they create. They will have opportunities to question and problem solve alongside their peers in a supportive environment.
In class we will explore things like…
• What is a scientist? Exploring science practices
• Movement and motion of objects: rolling, spinning, and balance
• The growth and development of living things: plants and animals
• Social interactions and group behavior: food webs
• Relationships in ecosystems: the needs of living things
• Adaptation: animals and their environment
• Weather and Climate
• The roles of water on earth: cycles and systems of water
• Earth materials: properties of rocks and minerals
• Space science: the moon and the stars
• Life long ago: dinosaurs
Cost of 8 week session: $160
